Film for Stretch Film Overwrappers
PVC stretch film for wrapping meat and produce, its chemical characteristics provide barriers to protect the product.
Stretch film for pallet wrap is Polyethylene and not to be used on wrappers.

Film Sizing

USE CAUTION WHEN WRAPPING PACKAGES AS THE CUT-OFF ROD AND PLATE ARE HOT TO THE TOUCH

1. Place package to be wrapped in the center of the package rest. Using both hands, grasp film at outer edges and with an even, steady, outward motion pull toward yourself enough film to fit over and around the entire package to be wrapped.
2. Place film over package and tuck under around 2 inches of film along the edge farthest from you. As you tuck the film, begin to pull the package towards you. At this time the package will be enclosed within the film. Please note that when you pull the film towards you that the proper film tension and most of the wrinkles have been removed before sealing package.
3. Hold turned under film in place and using both hands, place the package on the hot plate to make the first seal. During this step the cut-off rod automatically softens the film so that it will separate from the film roll.
4. Lift the wrapped package and tuck under the excess film on the sides of the package to make a tight package and then run across the hot plate to make the final seal. Note that the unused film from the roll should be resting on the cut-off rod waiting for the operator to wrap the next package.

Installing the Axle Assembly on Table Top Models

625A:

1. Position the complete axle assembly on the rear of the wrapper with the removable end cap on the left side and the bearing blocks on the outside of the sides of the machine base as shown in the drawing.
2. Fasten the bearing blocks to the sides of the machine base with the four bolts, lock washers and hex nuts provided in the bearing block set.

825A/875A:

1. Position the complete axle assemblies between the side plates of the wrapper with the removable end cap on the left side and the bearing blocks and mounting brackets on the inside of the plates.
2. Fasten bearing blocks, mounting bracket and axle to the side plates with the fasteners provided in the bearing block set.

Mounting Film onto the Axle

Table Models:

1. Place the ends of axle into the grooves on lower bearing blocks with the removable end cap positioned on the left side.
2. Swing the upper bearing blocks toward the inside of the machine base until they align with the lower bearing blocks.
3. Thread the wing nuts onto both of the bolts located in the slotted holes of the upper bearing blocks and tighten all of the wing nuts on all four of the bolts in the bearing block assemblies.
4. Replace the protective caps on the ends of both bolts located in the slotted holes of the upper bearing blocks.

Floor Models:

1. Loosen four wing nuts. Swing out upper bearing blocks on both sides.
2. Lift out axle assembly and unscrew movable end cap, position fixed end cap for correct film width then secure with pin and o-ring.
3. Position the cardboard core of the film roll against the taper of the fixed end cap. Make sure the film is threaded from the bottom of the roll and under film roller.
4. Replace movable end cap and screw on tightly.
5. Replace the axle assembly and film roll onto the lower bearing blocks, swing upper bearing blocks back into place and tighten and adjust wing nuts for desired film tension

Removing the Axle Assembly

1. Remove the protective caps from the ends of both bolts located in the slotted holes of the upper bearing blocks.
2. Remove the wing nuts on both bolts with the protective caps removed and loosen the wing nuts on both bolts located in the other holes of the upper bearing blocks.
3. Swing the upper bearing blocks toward the outside of the machine base until the ends of the axle are exposed.
4. Lift the axle out of the lower bearing blocks.

Changing the Axle Cap Width

1. Pull pin out of the outer flange of hub until the end of pin clears the inner flange of hub. Do not completely remove the pin from the hub.
2. Slide the hub to the new position and align the hole on the inner flange on hub with the nearest hole in the axle.
3. Push the pin completely through the inner flange of hub and the axle until the top of the pin is flush with the outer flange of hub.

When an overwrapper is brand new, the element might burn off an excess of the protective coating.  This should last no longer than 10-15 minutes.

A standard 110V Neon circuit tester can be used for testing.

Hot Rod, Circuit Board and Fuse Holder work together. Hot Plate, Thermostat and Element work together. Hot Plate and Hot Rod are independent of each other.

1) Check the fuse - With the power OFF, disconnect red wire from Terminal 1 and secure it out of the way without touching any metal. With power ON, test across Terminals 3 and 4. If tester does not light, replace fuse.
2) Check the circuit board - With the power OFF, disconnect red wire from Terminal 1 and secure it out of the way without touching any metal. With power ON, test across Terminals 1 and 2. If tester does not light, replace circuit board.
3) Test the Hot rod - With the power OFF, disconnect red wire from Terminal 1 and secure it out of the way without touching any metal. With power ON, test between Terminal 1 and end of disconnected wire. if tester does not light, replace the hot rod.

WHEN REPLACING THE HOT ROD OR CIRCUIT BOARD IT IS RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE BOTH SINCE THEY WORK HAND IN HAND WITH EACH OTHER.

♦ This unit should NOT be operated if rod temperature exceeds 300 degrees fahrenheit.  If smoke or fumes are detected, discontinue use. ♦

2) Test the Hot rod - With the power OFF, disconnect red wire from Terminal 1 and secure it out of the way without touching any metal. With power ON, test between Terminal 1 and end of disconnected wire. if tester does not light, replace the hot rod.

2. Check the circuit board - With the power OFF, disconnect red wire from Terminal 1 and secure it out of the way without touching any metal. With power ON, test across Terminals 1 and 2. If tester does not light, replace circuit board.
3. Test the Hot rod - With the power OFF, disconnect red wire from Terminal 1 and secure it out of the way without touching any metal. With power ON, test between Terminal 1 and end of disconnected wire. if tester does not light, replace the hot rod.

• Check for loose wires.

Check element then thermostat.

Replace hot plate heating element, if necessary.

You must turn knob on the timer past 2 and set back to desired time.

• The element 6110-016 fits the 6" by 15", 8" by 15" and 9" by 12" hot plates.
• The 6" by 9" hot plate uses 6504-022 element.

• The Non-stick Replaceable Cover is not attached.
• When the unit is cooled down, just pull the cover off.

• Fuseholders are only sold as unit, which includes holder and cap. (Fuseholder 1821-013)
• Bearing blocks and core adapters are sold as a set.
• Transformers are no longer available. You need a hot rod conversion kit, which will vary be the size of your machine.
• Replacement wires are no longer available. You need a hot rod conversion kit, which will vary be the size of your machine.

The non-stick replacable covers wear with use.
To prolong the life, always keep the cover clean and free of liquid and debris.
Rotate the cover occassionally.
Reduce friction by using an FDA approved lubricant on the cover.
